About PZ2 Animals

Last updated

PZ2 Animals is an unofficial fan-made database of the animals in Planet Zoo 2, with tools for planning habitats. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Frontier Developments, which makes and publishes Planet Zoo 2. Game names and trademarks belong to their owners.

The goal is simple: the quickest way to find any Planet Zoo 2 animal, see what it needs and plan which animals belong together.

Where the information comes from

Every fact on the site is graded before it is published:

  • Official: Frontier's own online Zoopedia, the Planet Zoo 2 website, Steam announcements and Frontier's official accounts. These we publish directly.
  • Confirmed by two sources: two independent sources agree, for example two different players' videos showing the same number on an animal's in-game Zoopedia page. We publish these with the date we checked them.
  • Single source: only one video or player reports it. If we show it at all, it is marked "Player reports, not yet verified" and it never feeds a tool.

Before launch everything on the site is official. Each list and guide page names its sources at the bottom and shows when it was last updated and which version of the game it describes. We write everything in our own words; we do not copy text, tables or pictures from other sites, including Frontier's descriptions of each species.

The pictures and using them

The home page picture is an illustration drawn for this site with AI, and the other header pictures are charts we draw from the official data; each one is labeled where it appears. These illustrations and charts are our own work, © 2026 planetzoo2animals.com. Please do not reuse them without permission: to ask, write to hi@planetzoo2animals.com (see the contact page).

When a page shows a game screenshot, a player took it: they are named under the picture with a link to their post, so ask them about reuse. We do not use Frontier's own promotional pictures, and we take any picture down the same day if its owner asks.
