When does Planet Zoo 2 come out?
Planet Zoo 2 releases on October 13, 2026 at 3 PM BST for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Disc editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S follow on October 20, 2026.
What time does Planet Zoo 2 unlock?
At 3 PM BST on October 13, 2026. That is 7:00 AM in Los Angeles, 10:00 AM in New York, 4:00 PM in Berlin, 10:00 PM in Beijing and 1:00 AM on October 14 in Sydney. Frontier announced the time on Steam on October 9, 2026.
Can you pre-load Planet Zoo 2?
Yes on Steam, if you pre-purchased the game. Frontier is aiming to open pre-loading at 3 PM BST on October 12, 2026, one day before launch (7:00 AM in Los Angeles). Its announcement does not mention pre-loading on other stores.
Is Planet Zoo 2 on PS5 and Xbox?
Yes. Planet Zoo 2 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on the same day as PC, and a controller or a keyboard and mouse both work on every platform.
Is Planet Zoo 2 on Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus?
Not announced. Frontier says it has nothing to share about Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus. It is sold for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Is Planet Zoo 2 coming to Nintendo Switch, Mac, PS4, mobile or VR?
No. Frontier says there are no plans for Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, for macOS, or for the previous generation of consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One). On Steam the game is Windows only, and no mobile, iPad or VR version has been announced.
Does Planet Zoo 2 have a disc version?
Yes, for consoles. Disc editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release on October 20, 2026, a week after the digital launch.

How much does Planet Zoo 2 cost?
The Standard Edition costs $49.99 (£39.99, €49.99) and the Deluxe Edition $64.99 (£54.99, €64.99). These are Frontier's suggested prices; Steam lists the same US prices.
What is in the Planet Zoo 2 Deluxe Edition?
The Deluxe Edition adds six animal species and a set of exclusive animal signs for your zoo, for $15.00 more than the Standard Edition in the US. The six animals are the Axolotl, Blue and Gold Fusilier, Golden Eagle, Golden Lion Tamarin, Great Hammerhead and Longfin Batfish.
What is the Planet Zoo 2 pre-order bonus?
Pre-ordering gives the Bonus Content Pack at launch: the exclusive Toucan Eat shop and its signage, 3 unique animal donation bins and a tiger photo stand-in wall.
How do you get the Hawksbill Turtle sculpture?
Frontier gives a brass Hawksbill Turtle sculpture for your zoo to players who sign up to its Planet Zoo 2 mailing list; the in-game reward arrives at launch.

Playing the game
Does Planet Zoo 2 have multiplayer?
No multiplayer. Parks and blueprints can be shared and downloaded through the in-game workshop, across platforms.
Does Planet Zoo 2 have mods or a Workshop?
Planet Zoo 2 has the Frontier Workshop: from inside the game you can download blueprints and creations other players made, on any platform, and upload your own. It needs an internet connection. Frontier's help page does not mention any other mod support.
Can you play Planet Zoo 2 offline?
Playable offline once downloaded; the workshop and park sharing need an internet connection.
What game modes does Planet Zoo 2 have?
Three: Career, Sandbox and Franchise. The Planet Hub is a global menu, in every mode, for tracking progress, checking performance data, travelling between your sites and choosing research and conservation projects.
Is there a build limit on console?
Consoles have a complexity meter that limits how much you can build, to keep performance steady.
Can I play Planet Zoo 2 without a gaming PC?
Yes, through NVIDIA GeForce NOW: Frontier says the cloud gaming service lets players without high-powered hardware play Planet Zoo 2.
Will Planet Zoo 2 get DLC?
Frontier has nothing to share about future content yet; it says the team is focused on launch.
How many animals does Planet Zoo 2 have?
130 animals are on Frontier's online Zoopedia so far, and a few more have been named for launch. Our full list has all of them.
Planet Zoo 2 PC requirements
