Planet Zoo 2 Habitat Planner & Compatibility
Choose up to six animals and their adult counts to compare shared biomes, checked areas, temperature ranges and barrier requirements. Official pairings are shown separately; missing data stays unknown.

- Black Rhinoceros
Shared biomes and regions
Biomes: Desert, Grassland.
Regions: Africa.
A shared biome does not confirm that animals can live together.
Area for your adult counts
Exact outputs checked on the official Zoopedia. We do not multiply the one-adult value or extrapolate other counts. Area categories can overlap; do not add them together.
Black Rhinoceros · 1 adult
Within the published mixed-group range (1–3). Sex ratios still need checking.
- Land area
- 770 m²
- Shelter area
- 40 m²
Checked counts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Official Habitat panel · Grade A · 2026-10-13.
Full Black Rhinoceros requirementsTemperature and barrier comparison
Shared temperature: 14°C to 41°C
Strongest barrier: Grade 4.
Tallest barrier: 2 m.
These compare the published numbers. Roofs, climb-proofing, water conditions and mixed-species safety need separate checks.

What these results tell you
Use the animal list to find species, the biome finder to plan a theme, and this planner to compare recorded habitat requirements. A matching environment is one check; it does not establish that animals can live together.
The temperature result is the overlap of every selected animal's published range. Barrier strength and height take the highest recorded value separately. Neither checks enclosure type, salinity, terrain proportions, climb-proofing or every construction detail.
Checked habitat records
Visible official Habitat panels are available in our records for 14 animals, checked 2026-10-13. The area table states exactly which adult counts we checked. Other species still contribute their biomes and regions from the official roster.

Frequently asked questions
Can these Planet Zoo 2 animals live together?
Only an explicit official relationship is reported as a listed pairing here. A shared biome, overlapping temperature or matching barrier does not confirm compatibility. Combinations without checked official records remain unconfirmed.
How does the habitat area calculator work?
It looks up the exact area shown for a checked adult count in the official Zoopedia. It does not multiply the one-adult area, extend an unverified formula or add space categories together. Other counts display Not confirmed yet.
Can it calculate the total area of a mixed habitat?
Not confirmed yet. We have no verified mixed-species area rule, so the planner shows separate requirements for each species and leaves the combined total unknown.
Why does a temperature or barrier result say Not confirmed yet?
At least one selected animal is missing a checked requirement. A complete result needs data for every animal; the planner does not quietly calculate from a known subset.
Can I save my habitat plan?
Yes. Save plan stores your species and adult counts in this browser, and Load saved plan restores them. No account is needed; another browser or device will not have that saved plan.
