Planet Zoo 2 Zoo Reputation: How to Raise All Four Ratings

What Zoo Reputation does

Zoo Reputation measures how well a zoo is doing, and the higher it is, the more guests come, which our Planet Zoo 2 money guide turns into more Cash. Each of the four ratings feeds into it, so the quickest gains come from whichever rating is lowest. The Overview screen of the Zoo Management tab shows all four, and its Graph view shows how they change over time.

In Franchise, Reputation stars also decide your accreditation, which decides which animals you can buy:

The Planet Zoo 2 accreditation tiers page lists the animals each tier unlocks, and our Planet Zoo 2 Franchise mode guide shows what a new Franchise can buy. Frontier said on 20 October 2026 that its next update will lower what tiers 3 to 5 ask for; we will update this table the day it ships.

Animal Husbandry

This rating counts the average welfare of all your animals and some of your animals reaching the Thriving state. Sort the Animals screen of Zoo Management by Welfare and start with the animals at the bottom. Research is what reveals each species' Thriving requirements; once you know them, the Planet Zoo 2 thriving relationships page shows which animals are happiest together, and the habitat planner checks space, temperature and barriers for a group.

Sustainability

Sustainability counts how many sustainable power sources the zoo has and how many recycling bins the zoo has. Eco-friendly power, solar panels and wind turbines, usually reaches further than a generator and costs nothing to run, but it is expensive to build and its range can shrink in some biomes. Recycling bins work like normal bins but take caretakers longer to empty. Replacing generators as your budget allows and swapping in recycling bins along busy paths both raise the rating.

Guest Education

Guest Education counts how educated the most educated guests in the zoo are and placing most of the education topics for the animals you keep. Education comes from habitat and conservation boards, speakers, Animal Talks, education stations and audio guides, which Information Centres sell; an Information Centre needs power and a vendor to open. Each species has several education topics, not every source can teach every topic, and a guest is fully educated on a species after five topics about it, and a guest's education level is the average of the five species they know most about. Research unlocks more topics: researching a species teaches its own topic, and Education Research adds new topics to education sources.

Guest Experience

Guest Experience counts the average happiness of your guests, the zoo's overall Scenery rating and a varied collection of appealing species. Guests need energy, food, drink and toilets, and the Guests screen of Zoo Management shows how well each need is met, so build more toilets or drink shops where it falls short. A varied collection means animals from different habitat types and parts of the world: the Planet Zoo 2 aquatic animals and animals by continent pages help you add variety. For scenery, sort Management > Facilities > Guests by Scenery to find the plainest corners, and decorate queues too: the Scenery around them keeps waiting guests happy.
